“We are installing the washer a long run from the water heater. For the first wash load of the day, the first 2 gallons from the hot water tap might actually be cold, until the line warms up. Does the washer adjust the temperature or not? Thanks!”

The WM4500HBA does have an internal water heater to heat the water when using the extra hot water temp or the steam wash setting. The manual covers this on page 29. Note, it does not appear the washer will increase the temp for warm or hot water wash cycles. Instead LG assumes you have your hot water heater set at 120-135F.
