Most tvs don't have Atmos support at this time. You have to hook it up using arc from the tv to the sound bar. Do not use optical if you want Atmos, it cannot do the higher levels of dolby. There are few source materials at this time that have atmos . 4k bluray is one of the few and it should say on the back if it has Atmos . The sound bar has great sound and in my opinion is worth the extra money even if you don't get atmos most the time.
