“Our hot water supply is very weak and even on the hottest setting the water is cold if I unlock and check, and it doesn’t fill up enough water level. Shouldn’t the machine fill it for as long as needed to reach the water level and use internal heater?”

Hello, the internal heater is only there to bring up the water temperature for the Sanitary, Allergiene™, and Steam cycles/functions. The unit must still be connected to adequate hot and cold water inlets. ^AC
