A: After you press the START/PAUSE button to begin the cycle on the LG - 5.2 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Top-Loading Washer - Black stainless steel, Model # WT7600HKA, the lid will lock and the washer will agitate briefly without water to measure the weight of the load. It will automatically adjust the wash time for the amount of laundry, the water pressure and amount of water and other operating conditions. If you need to add more water to your wash load, you can use the WATER PLUS option, however, if the machine has reached its maximum water level, the Water Plus button will not have any effect and the Water Plus option is not available for the Tub Clean and Bedding cycles...^IFV
Q: Does the agitator damage your clothes inany way or get wrapped around it?
A: The ENERGY STAR® Qualified LG - 5.2 Cu. Ft. 14-Cycle Top-Loading Washer - Black Stainless Steel, Model # WT7600HKA does not use an agotator. It uses an impeller which is a low profile plate located in the bottom of the tub that has replaced the agitator. IT creates turbulent currents in the wash water as the impeller rotates which with the clothes in the tub provide the mechanical motion that cleans your clothes that is much gentler than an agitator. In theory, the vanes on the impeller do not make any physical contact with the clothes...^IFV
Q: Is there a way to pause the machine to unlock it and add additional wash?
A: Just push and hold the start button for a few seconds and it will pause the cycle, unlock and the lid can be opened. Close the lid and Tap the start button again to re-start the cycle

A: This washer does not have a center agitator like tradition top loaders and the recommendation is to place the clothes or bedding around the exterior of the drum just like if the center agitator was there. That being said I have washed a medium size dog bed in the washer by placing in top down in the center of the washer. I wouldn't go to far when washing the bed so if the tub becomes unbalanced you can adjust.
