The curved screen allows viewing from the sides as well as straight on. The improved viewing angles allow me to watch my favorite shows from the kitchen via the reach-thru to the family room. For example, if you had a house full of family and friends for the big game or pay-per-view event, folks won't have to crowd one another directly in front of the set. They all could be virtually anywhere in the space and see the same picture and quality. FYI. This LG OLED is super light weight and gorgeous to boot.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hey Charlotte. The flat and curved version are identical except for one HUGE difference. The flat model supports HDMI 2.0a. Which is the hardware required for future 4K uhd bluray player use and any other 4K viewing. The curved version doesn't support this for some bizarre reason. GET THE FLAT VERSION. Can't stress this enough. If you're going to spend this kind of money on a tv like I did, make sure it can actually use the future technology you're buying it for. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It's mainly personal preference. I debated for a while between the flat and curved models, but in the end felt like the curved screen drew me into the picture more than the flat did. I would recommend going to the store and looking at both of the models for a while to see what you like better (it took me about 3hrs in-store to decide).
