Yes, I bought this TV on the 11th and use it on my PS4 Pro. It has a great picture and an immense upgrade from 1080p. It has HDR10 and Dolby Vision, which is one reason I bought it. I don't think the Sony 900e the other person mentioned will be updated to support Dolby Vision, which is ultimately why I didn't buy it, but you may want to look into that yourself as I'm not 100% sure. As for the local dimming and cloudy blacks, I'm not sure I've noticed that, or would recognize it if it did happen. If you game then it's best to use the "gaming" mode as that reduces the input lag significantly and response is amazing. Much better than my last TV.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.YES! Excelent for gaming with low latency. Especially consoles.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It does have HDR 10 and true 120 refresh so it should be quite terrific for gaming. I haven't personally seen this TV but spec wise it has a lot of the features you'd want for a gaming tv, racially one under $1500. From other sources I have seen/read the blacks have a bit of cloud to them and the local dimming isn't consistent, but those are the only negatives I've seen. If you're a fan LG and not ready to make that leap into OLED I think this would be a better than average TV that should hold up for a while with the Sony Pro and XBONEX. For my money, I would pay the extra $100 and go with the Sony 900e, but to each their own. Just make sure to get your son a good sound bar for the full experience.
