Based on my understanding of the television, it all comes down to the quality of the content. Some devices such as Sony's PS4 Pro and various 4K players are designed to send a high quality signal to your television. Your cable box, on the other hand, is not. While most cable providers claim to offer high quality content, very little of it is 4K and in some cases it is not even 1080p but rather 1080i. You might try contacting Spectum and inquire into whether or not they have cable boxes capable of sending a higher quality signal to your television, and you might also want to ask how they are defining "HD content" as well as how much of their content actually fits their definition. Hope this helps.
