Short answer: You can't. The TV doesn't send a variable volume signal over TOSLink, it just sends audio. Slightly longer answer: If your speakers came with a remote, you can use that. If your DAC came with a remote, you can use that. If they didn't, you can't. I will be using the exact same setup, and controlling the volume with the remote that my speakers came with. Definitely not ideal, but short of buying a receiver (or possibly programming the MagicRemote to control your external speakers?) you still can't.

Please try again later.Don’t think that’s possible, idk I use an optical cable to send sound out from the TV to my speakers and but I still have to use 2 controllers, one for tv audio and the other for the controller. If what you’re doing is supposed to allow the volume to be controlled as one, bring up the mouse and aim towards the right side until the icons pop up and select the audio option and switch through it
