Does this TV only work with the smart control? null

Ours works with the remote from our old LG tv as well as the new remote.

I'm not sure what you are asking. What do you man by "smart control"? Model 55UP8000PUA comes with a Magic remote, but you can use a standard remote. Please clarify your question so that I can provide a useful and accurate response. Thank you. ^Daphane
