It depends on what kind of lighting you are speaking of really. I have a lot of artificial light sources and they seem to cause no problems but I did have to move the tv away from windows as any window that the sun shines directly onto the screen does present a glare. Other than that you should feel pretty comfortable with the picture quality of this product as the wife and I feel it is one of the best tv purchases we have ever agreed upon.
