Thank you for your inquiry. The LG 65" Class (64-5/8" Diag.) - LED - 2160p -Smart - 3D4K Ultra HDTV, Model # 65UB9500 can be considered "Future Proof" in some regards since it does possess both a "Tru 4K engine" and a 4K resolution upscaler, but keep in mind that the new HDMI 2.0 capability is still a work in progress and the upgrades for that are still pending until the new standards are finalized and the TV industry is able to provide 4K content so the term "Future Proof" may not be appropriate just yet. The potential is there but they way it works is that The spec comes first, then the chip makers design and build the chips, then TV, Blu-ray, and receiver manufacturers build these chips into TVs, Blu-ray players, and receivers. This TV does have the H.265 (HEVC) built in and John Taylor, Vice President Public Affairs and Communications at LG is on record with reassurances that this TV and Future Ultra HD TVs from LG will include this HDMI 2.0 capability and have a solution to handle 60Hz 4K content...IFV

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. Was able to update the operating system for the TV. They have now added a program to allow transfer of movies or photos directly to the TV. Items are still being developed for the TV, but still have no problems and love the quality.
