This TV has an amazing picture, smart tv functions with no issues over wireless home network. 3D functions are great and really like not having to wear heavy battery powered glasses. Mounted mine on the wall as the stand was adequate but the TV shook a lot when three dogs would play ball in house, no vibration once mounted, mounting to wall bracket was easy but definitely a two man job ( TV was a little heavy at 76 lbs for my wife but we managed ). Forward facing speakers are nice and keep you from having to turn up too loud. Overall I would recommend this tv to anyone wanting to buy a 4K set (Netflix has limited 4K right now but has been great so far)

Awesome TV, only complaint is the optical out port

Love this TV, it has a much better quality than its Samsung and Sony equivalents, and upscales all 1080p to nearly 4k. Came with 2 3d glasses. The only complaint I have of the TV is the positioning of the optical port, it is at the back and near the bottom which makes it impossible to see. I accidentally inserted it the wrong way, causing the inside cover to become stuck inside, unabling the cable to lock inside. And everytime we put in the cable, it would fall out. We took the TV to best buy, their Geek Squad analyzed it and gave us a replacement that day itself, so awesome customer service on their end. Otherwise it is a fantastic TV!!!

I wasn't planning to buy a 4K TV until I saw this one and couldn't stop staring at the picture. The clarity and depth of 4K video is exquisitely rendered on this screen. The HD from our cable company is nearly as crisp and I couldn't be more pleased with this purchase. Some notes about this model: The bevel surrounding the screen is minimal. This may sound inconsequential, but when you are viewing movies and television you are looking at almost all screen...which enhances the experience. The setup was quick and easy and the standard picture setting is quite nice. I haven't yet explored the user recommended setting and imagine that I'll only love this set more if/when I find the optimum mix. Using the smart features is dead simple. We have enjoyed more movies in the month since getting this set than we've watched in the last 2+ years. My only frustration with using some of these features (we've only used a handful) is that the volume is considerably lower. This necessitates ramping up the volume considerably. More than once, this caused us to get blasted when we put the cable back on without remembering to turn down the volume. Compared to other TVs we've had, this set has considerably better sound quality. No, it isn't cinema quality and we've had the volume issues noted above...but for regular television watching, the sound is great. I have mixed feelings about the remote. The idea is cool, but not necessarily practical. In our case, we use it in combination with our cable remote for ease of use. That is, when watching cable, we use the cable remote. When using smart features, we use the LG remote. I purchased this set when it was on sale and couldn't be more pleased with the overall value. I never imagined being able to afford a 4K set and am thrilled with it so far.

I owned an LG 46" LCD and the TV was great. I loved it. So, it shouldn't have been a surprise that their 4K 65" offering was going to be such a great buy. I'm not a video-phile, but I did plenty of research including reading forum/ review site after forum/ review site. So I went into this knowing what needed to be "adjusted" and "tuned" (it wasn't that much - tons of web articles describing these). History out of the way, I'll comment on why I feel this TV is a fantastic buy. 1) Display quality. The display looks great. I immediately downloaded 4K demo content (via WebOS browser and YouTube app) )and I was show-room stunned. Vivid colors, great contrast, and great viewing angles. 2) Upscaling that works surprising well. The 4K upscaling was something I was a little worried about. If you're watching SD content, I the upscaling is useless, mostly due to format, but that content just doesn't look good. HD and HDX content, on the other hand, looks pretty sharp. Every person I've shown HD/HDX content (myvudu.com, etc) says the display is awesome and they don't know anything about upscaling or 4K. Then I show them 4K content so they can compare and know what to look for. One knows upscaled content is not 4K native, but the quality is almost such that you don't notice. EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, particularly for streaming content, you'll see there is a lag in processing the conversion but those moments are rare and then tend to occur with heavy network use at home. 3) I hated the old LG SmartTV OS. It was too cluttered with content, was sadly slow (even switching inputs) and was just a damned chore to use. The LG WebOS this TV is equipped with is surprisingly responsive and relatively "smart". But being a Windows 8.1/ Phone user, I'm accustomed to the live-tiles but the obnoxious primary colors on a 65" can be a little jarring. Most settings are straight forward and easy to find. They could stream line some things like channel learning for those with digital TV antennas like me (I don't subscribe to cable TV and pretty much exclusively stream/ watch from XBOX). 4) I do have one complaint. It is related to the technology for the backlighting. On a completely black screen (not black screen within a movie, but from OS or outside of the movie box), you will see "light" (imagine a negative or white shadow effect) along the edges or wherever your magic remote cursor roams on black space. It's not a problem, but it was worrisome until I tested and confirm that it does not do this within movie content. On a upscaled movie or 4K with blacks along edges and everywhere throughout, they are pure black. 6) This TV was being sold at a promotional price. If you can get it, the TV is definitely worth the dollars spent. Without that promotion, I might have been tempted to go with a non-4K analog. The specs and price make this a great buy. I've been pondering and shopping around for a long while. I'm glad I went to the show room, I'm glad I did the research, I'm glad I read peoples comments both good and bad. As a post note: I bought a PS4 and it is great fun playing on this TV. I also hooked up my living room PC (Alienware x51 R1 with GTX 750Ti capable of 4K) and the gaming is just awesome (Max/Ultra for Guild Wars 2 @ 75 fps, WoW at 90-110 fps operating at 1080p). If you have a living room PC and use it with display, you won't be disappointed.

excellent tv ....very happy with purchase.... tv is beautiful and comparable to the sony 65 xbr850.... 3d very good... doesn't hurt eyes ... it shows 1080i to each eye unlike sony which only shows 480i to each eye and kind of discomforting after awhile... my sister has the sony model.. LG remote needs a learning curve.... and 4k not really showing full capacity but regular broadcast in 1080i /p upgraded to 4k is excellent... tv speakers very good also.... excellent buy... too bad no real 4k programs but picture upgrade is still excellent... happy with buy !!!

The picture is unbelievable. We really like the Smart Remote and my family really enjoys watching 3D movies. Our media room has no windows and the color and brightness in perfect. We have always owned Samsung televisions and we were a little nervous about purchasing the LG but we are very happy with our decision.

I've really enjoyed this tv since I purchased it. Live sports look great on it and connecting peripheral devices is fairly easy. The ability to turn almost any broadcast into 3D is neat although doesn't always translate to full 3D. Watching HD movies and other programming is still a great experience, I sometime find myself thinking about just how good the picture looks instead of watching the actual movie. I chose this TV after strongly debating to get the Samsung. The lower price, upscale-ability of non HD content to almost true HD, comparable picture, plus the Ultra HD Technology from LG and 240Hz helped me pick this over the comparable Samsung model

Great picture, everything you need in a TV. The only downside is the sound and it's probably because I can't figure it out yet. Other than that it's easy to navigate through and the 3D feature is awesome. You can make any program on regular TV 3D and you only need the glasses you get from a movie theater. I look forward to football.

I've gone through a few TV's so I hope this review is helpful. Pros: This TV has a great picture and up-scales to near 4K extremely well. After doing a little calibration, you'll find that brightness and contrast still are not at max, which indicates that you will have some adjustment left as the set get older. I tried the Sony XBR65X850B and found that those setting needed to be nearly maxed out. Also faces were artificially smoothed and colored and made people look computer generated, regardless of how you change the settings. The LG on the other hand does an excellent job with this. WebOS.. This feature works quite well. The SmartShare links to your Photo and Movie folders on your computer and you can view them on the LG. Resolution looks great. If you want to Project your computer to the set, that takes a little more effort to set it up. You have to push the Home button on the remote and find the ScreenShare Icon. I found that the instructions didn't get the job done for my HP Envy laptop using Window 8.1. I suggest downloading SmartShare software from LG.com, then click on it's Icon before trying to Projecting from the computer. Using Windows 8.1, bring up the Devices pull out by swiping to the right of the screen. Go to Project and click Add a wireless device ( if it hasn't already found your LG) then click on the LG and you should be in business. Make sure you select to Duplicate your computer screen. Sound is pretty good for an LCD with small built in speakers. I found that watching movies and Blue Rays is obviously more enjoyable pumping the sound through my receiver. The settings give you plenty of adjustments to make most TV watching through the set just fine. Check out the LG Store and YouTube to watch 4K and 3D clips. 3D Works pretty good. Even the simulated 3D work decent. It's good that the glasses are passive. You can use any 3D glasses that you might have saved from the theater. Overall love this TV. Cons: I mentioned that I've been through a few TV's. The Vizio and LG's both seem to have a banding issue that shows up mostly watching Golf and sometimes a little on football. It happens on scenes when the entire screen is green. There are vertical shadows of various widths that are annoying when the camera is panning to follow the ball or player. I'm convinced that most panels have this problem to one degree or another since only the Sony didn't have it. I've tried 2 LG's. I'm just living with it since the rest of the programming is so outstanding on the LG. Connections: Plenty of connections for connecting peripherals. Reflection from the screen is not too bad. If you have lights or windows behind you can see some reflection during darker scenes, but it's not like a mirror.

I did a lot of research before buying this TV, and I haven't been disappointed. It was highly rated for the money, and I can literally see why. The high definition picture is quite good. When we watched "Frozen" in 3D, the effect was astounding - no ghosting, and the images looked like they were coming at us from the TV. Unfortunately, our cable provider carries no UHD programming, so I can't comment on that, other than this set was highly rated for its UHD picture as well. I'm quite pleased with this TV; now I just want my cable provider to air some UHD programming - or I will probably switch pay-TV companies.

I originally went in to buy the 70 inch Visio Smart tv. None to be found in the entire region! Really upset us because it was advertised on sale but not available. The Best buy salesman told us about this LG. He sai its 65 inch, smart tv. It is also 3D which I didn't care about. The installers raved about this tv and said in their opinion Visio doesn't come close to this. I have to believe they were right. The picture quality is unbelievable! Surfing the web and even the 3D is pretty awesome. Unbelievable for the money

This is a perfect tv and it's future proof. I love it with all it's features. The setup is very easy with the wizard and you can adjust the picture as you watch the different setting s as you choose. The built in Harmon Kardon sound is very clear and you can also adjust that to taste through the audio setting. The 2D to 3D feature is a lot of fun. You can make anything 3D by using it.. Switch back to 2D and take off your lightweight passive glasses and your back to normal tv.

I bought this as our first 4K TV and it had 3D too! It upscales content to an even higher quality and smoother frames which is so nice, you can really see the difference versus a regular 1080p TV. The 3D feature was so immersive and did not give me any headaches even long periods of use! I like how you can convert visual content to 3D as well, and you can also browse the web and stream movies online from apps such as Netflix and Amazon Video!

I purchased this tv to upgrade for future 4k content. If you're looking for a tv to use as your main viewing source, look no further. The pic quality is very nice. They're is a nice selection of apps. The 3d images are awesome. You must purchase blueray 3d movies to really appreciate this feature. I would recommend purchasing extra glasses for the 3d viewing. Only two pairs come with this set. They can be bought for 10.00 at bust buy.

I checked out this TV in Consumer Report. It had an excellent rating. I am completely satisfied with it. The picture is great and the 3D is amazing. I.can't wait for some UHDF programs. Another thing I like is the stand for the TV. It runs the full length of the TV. I secured the set to the wall, and the more substantial stand gives me more confidence in the safety aspect. I would highly recommend this set.

Best TV we have ever owned. When used on digital or blue ray it is like you are there. Clear and crisp. While we do not use all the features the internet options are great. The remote makes it easy to navigate and set up was pretty easy. Hated buying it for 2300 knowing that 6 months from now it will probably sell for a third less but after having it for 30 days would buy it again.
