An HDR tv will have the ability to give better contrast especially in dark or light areas of the picture when a normal display it would be difficult to see specific details due to the lack on contrasting ability. If you’re buying an HDR tv to watch blu rays or stream high quality content it’s fine. If you plan to game on this tv you need to understand that in hdr mode the input lag makes it not a great candidate unless you turn off HDR. I say this because if this is a tv to be used strictly for gaming, you can save money and don’t need the HDR. Hope that helps a little bit.
