QuestionI came across a comment above about the C8 speakers being down firing and using the stand to 'redirect' the sound forward. Is this true of all LG OLEDs and what does it mean for someone intending to wall mount the TV and not use the stand?

- Answer Hi Payson. The LG C8PUA 4K HDR Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® - 55" Class (54.6" Diag), Model # OLED55C8PUA, like all our 2018, 2017 and 2016 OLED TVs and all our Super UHD 4K LED LCD TVs and all our TV lineup all have down firing speakers. The sound signals will reflect off the stand or the surface that the TVs are installed on back up toward the listener's position. When wall mounted, the speakers are still down firing and there is no way to fully reflect sound. Some sound waves may reflect off the back wall, but not the way they do when the TV has its stand attached and its installed on a flat surface...^IFV

QuestionCan we lay the TV down flat in back of SUV vs standing up in normal upright position when bringing home? Wont fit in our Expedition at 38.2" box height. If not we will find another way but don't want to mess up a new TV.

- Answer I payed my tv down flat in the box and drove home with it 1/2 hour ride home from the store and had no problems at all ... it’s packed very well in the box ... just don’t squeez the screen when you unpack it ,.. be very careful handeling it once you remove it from the box

- Answer The TV has WebOS for its operating system which has YouTube as a preindtalled application. You can watch it that way. Or you can use about any streaming device (AppleTv, Nvidia Shirld etc) hooked up to the TV or AV Recriver.

QuestionAre any of the 2018 OLED models using "PCOLED" vs standard OLED technology? I have read that LG claims their OLED TVs (using Plasma-coupling OLED technology) will get 100,000 hrs of life, solving the issue regarding short screen life for OLED TVs.

- Answer We cannot divulge specific manufacturing processes, but can confirm that our OLED panels are designed to provide a lifespan of approximately 100,000 hours (to half brightness). ^CP

QuestionDoes anyone know LG’s plans for 2019 for their OLED TVs? I have a 2017 model and it’s great, but sounds like the Ap processor makes quite a difference. If they have something in the works for 2019 I may just wait. Thanks all!

Regrettably, LG does not disclose any future plans on products unless they are showcasing them and new innovations at trade shows that run annually like IFA in Berlin which is currently running until September 5 or at CES which typically takes place in January in Las Vegas...^IFV

QuestionIs the large curved stand come off for mounting on the wall - both the front(towards center of room) and back (towards wall tv is attached to) facing parts of the stand able to be removed? I can’t seem to find any picture of it mounted on the wall.

- Answer Neither the LG C8PUA 4K HDR Smart OLED TV w/ AI ThinQ® - 65" Class (64.5" Diag), Model # OLED65C8PUA nor any of our other TVs come with the stand base or stand legs attached. If you want to install them on a TV stand, you would need to assemble the stand bases or stand legs and attach them to the TV with the supplied hardware. If you intend to wall mount the TV, then there is no need for attaching the stand base. This TV is a VESA Compliant TV that has a VESA Wall Mount Interface Pattern of 300 x 300 (mm). VESA compliance guarantees that any VESA compliant Wall Mount that supports the Wall Mount Interface Pattern on the TV regardless of the type of mount or brand or manufacturer can be used to mount the TV. - Answer On the C8 it's 40" across on the top side that attaches to the TV, but due to it's curved design it's only 36" on the bottom side that sits on entertainment stand.

It has not been tested for compatibility with other brands and while it will work with most other brands, there are no guarantees that it will work with all brands. ^CP

- Answer Probably because people think they’ll get motion blur when they see 120hz. There is no motion blur with this TV.

- Answer No. Lip sync issues are still a major problem when using HDMI ARC and certain sources.

- Answer I have the OLED C8 PTA 65". When watching streaming 4k Content I can watch it at 120 Frames per second (FPS) and the refresh rate is spot on. However, as you may know, Hz and FPS are completely different things.
