“Can picture quality improve with a 4K blu-ray player? Our current blu-ray player is at least 10 years old and we tried watching a movie and I was very disappointed with the picture quality. Our old standard tv was clearer, that can't be right.”

Hi audiogirl. How good your picture will look will depend on the TV's resolution, your cables and the type of discs that you are playing. The LG UK6300PUE 4K HDR Smart LED UHD TV w/ AI ThinQ® - 65" Class (64.5" Diag), Model # 65UK6300PUE, like any other TV, will play any video content it is presented with at its native resolution, which for this TV is 3840 x 2160. When presented with a lower resolution, the built-in 4K Upscaler in the TV will upconvert that to the TV's native resolution, or as close to it as it can get. Where a picture might not look as crisp is if a movie with a lower resolution is upconverted. If it doesn't have enough data, the picture will look grainy. The recommended HDMI cables are the High-Speed HDMI®/™ cable or the High-Speed HDMI®/™ cable with Ethernet. The latter matters more for watching streaming apps. You may also need to tweak your Picture Mode settings in the TV's settings menu. Make sure that your Blu-ray player is set to output the correct resolution that matches the TV's resolution...^IFV
