Had the same problem, had to switch it to Optical and Internal Speakers for it to work.

One way to check that the Optical Digital Audio Out on the TV is transmitting a signal is to check the port. Do not look directly at the infrared light as that could damage your eyes, but you should see a red light. Connect your optical cable to that and again, you should see a red light. If there is no red light coming through the Optical Digital Audio out on the TV, then the TV will need a repair service. If there is a red light coming out from the TV but not the optical cable, the cable will need to be changed. If there is an infrared coming out from both the TV and the optical cable, then the issue may be with the port on the Home Theater system you're connecting to...^IFV
