A:Answer I have hooked the optical sound output to my surround sound receiver and yes, it does have stereo, surround, and Dolby Atmos when played through a receiver. If you use a sound bar it also will do surround. It depends on the source. Some channels are in stereo, some in surround,dependent on the channels transmission. So far I love this TV.
