It comes with Power DVD 22. Once this software is installed it will play blu ray discs. Also unlike the DVD burner LG makes the Power DVD software is not a trial version. I know this is a question many people have.

Hi, Yes, it plays Blu rays right out of the box, and I haven't been asked for a 'Trial' basis at all.
