“Does it play blu ray right out of the box or will I need to download a program for that? Someone here said it is a trial version and I would have to eventually download a program to make it play blu ray. If so, where do I go to get it?”

It comes with Power DVD 22. Once this software is installed it will play blu ray discs. Also unlike the DVD burner LG makes the Power DVD software is not a trial version. I know this is a question many people have.
