QuestionDoes it play blu ray right out of the box or will I need to download a program for that? Someone here said it is a trial version and I would have to eventually download a program to make it play blu ray. If so, where do I go to get it?

- Answer It comes with Power DVD 22. Once this software is installed it will play blu ray discs. Also unlike the DVD burner LG makes the Power DVD software is not a trial version. I know this is a question many people have.

QuestionDoes the included software allow you to copy old DVD's to the computer so you can watch them later? I want to put them on my laptop or tablet so the kids can watch movies when we are on road trips.

- Answer There is a free program you can use called MakeMKV. This will allow you to rip the DVD or Blu-ray for storage. You can then setup PLex or DNLA for playback on most devices. Movies do require quite a bit of storage, although DVDs are the least storage happy so make sure you have the hard drive space!

- Answer The LG - 6x External Blu-ray Disc Double-Layer DVD±RW/CD-RW Drive - Black, Model # BP60NB10 connects to a PC/Laptop via USB and gets its power from a USB port that supports USB power delivery. It is compatible with Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 8, Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Mac OS X Operating Systems and system requirements are an Intel Kabylake or Higher CPU, an HDD with 30GB or more of available space, an Intel Core 2 Duo P8600 2.4GHz or higher is recommended and RAM of 4GB or Higher. A Display with 4K Resolution , HDMI 2.0a , HDCP 2.2 is required. The drive does have a TV Connectivity functionality that can be activated by pressing the 'Eject' button for 2 seconds with the tray open to switch it from ODD mode to TV mode. The file system will then be converted to FAT32 and the drive will be recognized as a USB flash drive. If your projector supports FAT32 files via a USB port, then you should be able to use the drive to play movies in the drive through your projector...^IFV
