You can leave it hooked up. Mine is connected all the time and I have not had a problem with it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It can stay hooked up and comes with software to utilize it as a backup drive. So if you have a disk in it, you can set programs to back up to that disk or you can drag files to it manually.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You can leave it plugged in. I unplug it when not in use to use the USB for other things. When I need it I just plug it back in and go about my business. No need to reinstall software evertime.
