• Yes, but just barely. If you can raise the large pan/pot about 1/8 inch, it will just clear the top of the knobs

• Yes. They are just a little above parallel with the range top surface. But you wouldn't want to drag a large pot or pan over the surface, since glass cooktops can scratch over time when you do that.
