“Can I use this dryer without connecting the water hookup? Will other functions still operate when the water hose is not connected? And is there any way to manually fill a reservoir to use the steam function? We don't have access to water nearby.”

Without the water inlet hose, you will not be able to utilize the steam function. There is not a reservoir that can be filled. The dryer must be connected to the cold water tap using the new water supply hose. ^Daphane
