Q: QuestionDoes this have a side vent? If yes then which side?
Asked by Jj.
- A:Answer Hi there. Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We understand your inquiry regarding the LG 7.4 cu. ft. Smart Gas Dryer, model DLGX5501W. This dryer is designed with multiple venting options, including the bottom, left, and rear. While it comes configured to vent from the rear, it can be converted to vent from the side. For gas dryer models like yours, the right-side venting is generally not available when facing the dryer; therefore, the side vent option would be on the left side. A side vent kit would be required for this conversion. We'd like to assist you further if you have more questions about the installation or anything else related to your dryer. Please send us a private message on Social Media @LGUSSupport and our team will be more than happy to explore possible solutions. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-7-4-cu-ft-stackable-smart-gas-dryer-with-steam-and-sensor-dry-white/6532188.p?skuId=6532188 We appreciate your patience. —Renzo

Q: QuestionThe response said that the unit supports vertical venting. Does that mean there is a knock out on the top so I can go straight up into a cabinet and then 2 90’s to the crawl space? No room in back except maybe a periscope vent no more than 2 inches thick
Asked by BeBopReviewer.
- A:Answer Hi there! Thank you for sharing your inquiry about the LG - 7.4 Cu. Ft. Stackable Smart Gas Dryer. We understand your inquiry regarding the venting options. This model is designed to vent through the rear or sides (with a separate kit), and it does not feature a knockout on the top of the cabinet for vertical venting. We suggest utilizing a periscope vent if space is limited behind the unit to ensure proper airflow. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-7-4-cu-ft-stackable-smart-gas-dryer-with-steam-and-sensor-dry-graphite-steel/JJ8VPZR23K For further assistance and any specific concerns you may have, please contact us on lgdigitalcare@lg.sprinklrsupport.com. —Renzo

- A:Answer yes we were told it was a stackable dryer.

Q: QuestionCan the washer and Dryer be reversed stacked so i can vent the dyer through the floor with the conversion kit?
Asked by BeBopReviewer.
- A:Answer Hi there. Thank you for sharing your question about the LG DLGX5501V dryer. We understand how important flexible installation is, especially when it comes to venting and space setup. While the washer and dryer can be stacked using the compatible stacking kit, unfortunately, reversing the stack (placing the dryer on the bottom) is not recommended or supported. The dryer is always designed to be placed on top due to weight distribution and safety concerns. You may access this link related to your concern and go to Page 18 for more information:https://www.lg.com/us/support/product/lg-DLGX5501V.ASSEEUS. That said, the DLGX5501V does support vertical venting, side venting, and bottom venting using an optional side vent kit (Part #383EEL9001B). If your goal is to vent through the floor, a bottom vent conversion can be done, but we highly recommend having it performed by a licensed technician to ensure proper airflow and compliance with local codes. If you'd like help sourcing the correct kit or setting this up, please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport and we’ll be happy to walk you through it. We appreciate your interest in making your setup work best for your space! —Avril

Asked by Mitch.
This question was asked about the related product: LG - 7.4 Cu. Ft. Stackable Smart Gas Dryer with Steam and Sensor Dry - White
- A:Answer Hi there, Mitch. Thank you for your question about the LG DLGX6501W Gas Dryer. For the steam feature, you'll need a water supply connection. Typically, this involves using a Y-connector and a short hose to connect the dryer to your existing washer's cold water line. The additional cost is minimal, as it doesn't require complex plumbing. If you're specifically looking for a model without steam, the LG DLGX4201W is a great alternative, offering similar drying performance without the steam features. https://www.lg.com/us/washers-dryers/lg-dlgx6501w-front-load-gas-dryer#pdp_specs For further assistance or more personalized recommendations, please send us a private message on social media @LGUSSupport.
