“I don't understand much about electricity and power requirements. Will we be able to connect it to an AC Power converter to use in a car? I know that power outlets in cars are 12V DC. Is this possible or should we return the unit?”

Probably not man. Cars typically can't power much of anything and this is a big stereo. Plus, depending on the size of your car, this stereo is HUGE!
