Great question, this TV uses only composite Av but I was able to connect my new LG dp132 DVD player and Toshiba sd v296 VCR/DVD combo, picture quality is satisfactory , a Progressive scan component input 480p /1080p should give even better results with a component output blu ray player or game system sold a few years back, and in use today and many years forward.

No adapter is needed with this LG, great needed component and composite AV inputs so this model can use ALL video players...far superior to the Samsung with just hdmi inputs and No component or composite; forcing buyers to use a adapter or return the Tv.

Not sure what you are asking. The TV has Composite Input (AV) inputs in the rear. Composite and component cables can be used interchangeably.
