QuestionI was wondering how good of tv this is am I getting a good tv for this or is there a better 86inch tv from lg

- Answer I have this 86” 8 series for my man cave, as well as the nano cell 86” for my living room. The only difference I can find is in the speakers as the nano cell has a better sound. If your connecting it to a surround sound system then who cares. I’ve watched movies, played games, and Watched sports on both and I just can’t tell the difference, except that I’m about $1,200 to the good in my bank account by buying the 8 series.

QuestionDoes this tv have HDMI 2.1 or should I go buy a Sony or TCL that does? All the answers are different for the same questions. A simple "Yes, it has HDMI 2.1" or "No, it does not have HDMI 2.1" would suffice.

You would have to upgrade to the LG NanoCell 85 Series 4K Smart UHD NanoCell TV w/ AI ThinQ® TVs for TVs that have HDMI 2.1 ports...^IFV

- Answer Not sure why. But ESPN does not exist with this TV. Pretty big letdown. Searched through all the apps but it just isn't there.

QuestionWill this tv display 3D content? My Blu-ray player is 3D capable; my old set was able to use active 3D glasses with the player. I think the glasses trigger off of an inserted white screen, not via IR...Thanks!

- Answer TV manufacturers stopped offering 3D TV in 2016 and LG was one of the last two TV manufacturers to stop manufacturing 3D TV in 2016. There haven't been any 3D TVs offered since then and the LG UHD 85 Series 86 inch Class 4K Smart UHD TV with AI ThinQ® (85.6'' Diag), Model # 86UN8570PUC does not support 3D so even though your Blu-ray Player is 3D capable, you will not get 3D on the TV...^IFV

- Answer That depends on how those old movies were shot. Old movies were shot on either 35mm or 70mm film reel. These reels were analogue. Analogue gives you the ability to go back to it and ‘transfer’ it to what ever technology is available at the time. To put this in to perspective, a 35mm reel can render almost 20 million organic pixels which is the equivalent to just over 8K. Old movies were shot on either 35mm or 70mm film reel. That is why some older films look so amazing on the LG UHD 85 Series 86 inch Class 4K Smart UHD TV with AI ThinQ® (85.6'' Diag), Model # 86UN8570PUC. These movies look like they were shot in 2020 with the quality of the picture. No granulation, no underexposure can be seen by watching them. Back then there wasn’t much in the way of special effects. This allowed for filming to be organic and new versions of them not to be limited by the rendering of special effects. Audio was also rendered in analogue back then. Technology now allows us to go back to these old soundtracks and pull the audio right from the source...^IFV

- Answer Dual voltage actually means a voltage of 100 ~ 240V, 50/60Hz. The LG UHD 85 Series 86 inch Class 4K Smart UHD TV with AI ThinQ® (85.6'' Diag), Model # 86UN8570PUC is not a dual voltage TV. It has a power rating of 120 VAC, 50/60Hz. You would need a step down transformer for it to work on a 220 ~ 240V outlet. However, keep in mind that if you intend to use this outside of the U.S., it will not work in countries that have different television broadcast standards to those used in the U.S. The TV is designed for use in the U.S. and it has three built-in tuners, an ATSC tuner, an NTSC tuner and a QAM tuner, that are not compatible with the DVB, ISDB and DTMB digital terrestrial television (DTT) standards and the analog PAL and SECAM standards used in most countries around the world...^IFV
