• I connected the external cd drive to my WIN10 PC & placed the cd-rom that comes with the external cd drive into the external cd drive. The cd-rom installed a suite of software onto my WIN10 PC. In that suite, there's software that plays my blu-ray disks, dvds & music cds on my WIN10 PC. Works great & it's easy to use.

• Windows 10 should recognize the device when you connect it and also load the drivers. Yes, you can use the device then to load the adds bloat ware.
