Does this hook up to a MacBook Air 2018...it says it needs two USB ports but the newer model of macs don’t have usb drives. What do you need for this to work null

The USB Y cable enables to receive power from two USB host sockets at once, while only transceiving data with one of those sockets. As long as the host has two available USB sockets, this enables the drive that requires more power than one USB port can supply to be used without requiring a mains adapter...^IFV

I don't know much about the MacBook Air, but this optical drive comes with its own cable which needs one USB port on your computer.
