• Drive BP50NB40 will play Blu-ray disc but it will not play 4K Blu ray disc. A separate playback software for Mac OS must be used to play Blu-ray movie titles through Mac OS. The owner's manual for the drive does not recommend what type of software should be used. Please contact Apple for further assistance about software required to play Blu-ray disc on a MAC. ^Daphane

• No, Mac lack the software to play BluRay.. good luck finding software that reliably functions.
