• Yes But you will Still need The appropriate software to play the movies I have not used it but have seen alot of suggestions to use MakeMKV and VLC for playing movies

• Yes, the BP50NB40 is able to play Blu-ray discs. Region codes are dependent on the software used. Please check the software you plan to use this drive with regarding playing discs from multiple regions. ^CP
