Yes, it's the CyberLink Media software package. It's required for the Blu-Ray discs to work on your PC.

Yes it comes with old outdated software that you cant use to play blurays on unless you go with costly upgrade. The software is very difficult to uninstall, never buy software that doesn't easily remove. beware!

It does not come with software for playing Blu-ray discs on Mac. There is a disc labeled "Super Multi Blue Install Disc for Windows," and it also says "3-D Playback." So perhaps it allows for playback on PCs, but just not Mac.
