It depends on the connectivity options you have on the laptop. The cable that it comes with has the end the plugs into the drive and the other end is requires 2 USB A ports. If you don't have 2 USB A ports on your laptop you may have to use a USB hub, potentially a powered HUB to get it to work. I've used it with an older Dell laptop running windows 10 that has multiple USBA ports and it's worked great.
