It comes with software that would need to be installed to play Blu-ray movies, without the software it can play dvds.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It plays CDs and DVDs. I loaded the supplied software, but still cannot get it to recognize or play BluRay discs. Using Windows 11. I tried it in both the 2.0 USB slots and 3.0 USB slots on my brand new Republic of Gaming ASUS computer.
