I had the same problem and I was also using an optical cable. Switched to using an hdmi cable. BIG difference! Try it. You’ll like it.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had the same problem. When I set it up through google home it made a world of difference. To me the sound is so crisp and clear. I have no regrets whatsoever
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Optical only provides for stereo, not sure why they included the cable. Optical doesn't have near enough bandwidth. This is a 3.1.2 system. (Left, right, center, and the two speakers pointing upwards for height.) I've got mine hooked up via HDMI through the eARC output on my TV. Adding in the rear channels, you'll have an Atmos enabled 5.1.2 system. It sounds amazing!!! Much better than some movie theaters I've been in.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Regrettably, we would need more details about what your source for audio is that is coming into the TV that you have connected to the LG AI ThinQ 3.1.2-Channel 440W Soundbar System with Wireless Subwoofer and Dolby Atmos, Model # SL8YG to determine why there is a lack of bass. If your source is cable, most cable programming will not have that much deep bass. Make sure that your cable Set-Top box is set to output in Dolby Digital. If you have a Blu-ray player, try that. You should get more bass response from that compared to the cable programming.
