Ft. Ultra Capacity 3-Door French Door Refrigerator w/Door-in-Door®, Model # LFXS29766S will produce 70-182 cubes in a 24-hour period. Ice making stops when the in-door ice bin is full. When full, the in-door ice bin holds approximately 6 to 8 (12-16 oz) glasses of ice. The automatic ice maker in the freezer room will produce 12 cubes per cycle - approximately 100 cubes in a 24 hour period. The ice maker in the freezer room has an Automatic Shut Off Arm and will also stop ice production when it gets full and resume when the bin is emptied...^IFV

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The upper ice maker for our family (4 adults) was adequate for day to day ice needs. and yes the bottom ice maker will stop when the bin is full. Unfortunately our refrigerator which is not quite 18 months old has been dead for going on 3 weeks due to compressor failure. We are supposed to hear today whether is will be fixed or entirely replaced. Hope this helps!
