We had this problem. Even after a month our refrigerator water tasted awful. It was the plastic or electrical taste. After reading the article below we found the filter was not seated properly. Be sure to turn the filter clockwise PAST the first stop. Just keep twisting it. Then run another 2.5 gallons of water through it. Don’t forget to throw out the old unfiltered ice! https://lgcommunity.us.com/discussion/2747/water-filter-bad-taste
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Change out the water supply with either PEX or copper tubing. If you use the stainless steel mesh tubes, it cases a metal/plastic taste
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. How much water did you purge through the system. We ran 3 gallons out of ours when we first bought it and dumped both ice makers 3 times as well
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the same problem. Best Buy replaced the first one. The second one they tried to fix by replacing the tank. You can’t drink the water, it makes your mouth sting. The smell from the water and ice is bad. Try your local news station they often have a help department and can get results when you can’t.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, my 2 week old refrigerator is having this issue and we have run 10 gallons of water through it. Thrown out 5 icecube bins and still tastes bad. We cannot drink the water or use the ice. What can I do??
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Been fighting this for a year and half now. they have replaced my ice maker 4 times and within 3 or 4 months of use the ice starts tasting weird. Either plastic or electrical taste, if that makes sense. So frustrated with it. I have a side by side door in door LG fridge.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The water from mine tastes fine. Did you run 2 gallons of water though the filter before turning on the ice maker or drinking the water?
