Ice taste funny, musty Love the frig, which I have owned for 2 wks but. I have noted the ice has taste that is musty like. Obviously has new filter in, and large amount of water and ice was initially discarded. Anyone else?

I am having this same issue. The bottom ice tastes fine. The water tastes fine. The top ice maker tastes so weird! I might try to change out the water supply line from the new plastic one they made me buy, to the old copper one we had before. I read online that could solve it.

The installer told us when changing the filter make sure to run a few gallons through the water line and ice maker to avoid funky taste. First water through the filter was cloudy

Our LG dispensed bad-tasting water even after three weeks and dozens of gallons of flushing water. (Did not detect taste in the ice, but the gin probably masked it.) We replaced the braided stainless steel hose the installer used with a cheap GE brand (https://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-Universal-8-ft-Ice-Maker-Water-Supply-Line-WX08X10006/202049950) PLASTIC hose. I also cranked the water cutoff valve open and shut multiple times to knock out any deposits and ran five gallons straight from that line into a bucket at full pressure. 

One of these actions fixed it. So it was picking up the taste from either the metal hose or junk in the cutoff valve.

Is it a NEW rubber/vinyl line for water flow. Sometimes that gives a funny taste until it gets a lot of use, but only 7 to 10 days max.

Yeah I have the same problem - although only with the top ice maker. I had the ice makre replaced and it is still happening again. Has to be a faulty design. LG has tried to blame food odors and the water treatment facility...

Our refrigerator is about a month old. Top ice was fine the first few days, then started tasting bad. Bottom ice is fine. I've tried every solution suggested on various forums and nothing has helped. The water tastes fine. It has to be something to do with the top ice maker.

I have not had the frige a week yet, and no bad taste from day one. No problem with the ice whatsoever, and I am an iceaholic. I use ice in everything, as I have a very dry mouth due to extensive dental work.

Same thing here now it has kind of dissapated. But you can taste it sometimes. I'm guessing it's the filter.

We haven't detected any unusual tastes in our same model LG fridge's ice or water. I just went and tried an ice cube--no mustiness. Could your filter be faulty? Just a thought.

Im having the same issue just got it on monday and Ive dumped the ice everyday but still have the bad taste (like mildew) at the door ice. The bottom ice taste fine. I didnt have this issue with my other LG really annoyed.
