“I'd like to put a screen protector on this phone. Will that interfere with the way the screen is used as the speaker?”

I have had no issues using a case with a built in screen protector.

No I have one on mine and the volume level is still fine for calls.

Adding a screen protector to the LG G8 should not prohibit the screen from being used as the speaker. If the screen protector wraps around the G8 it may cause some muffling.
