- Answer Your child can only call and text numbers that you have inputted. ... Text messages can be sent and received only between the watch and a phone using the Gizmo app. When sent from the watch they can only consist of emoji, a brief audio message, or one of nine preset messages

QuestionCan you buy the Gizmo outright without having to lock in a contract? I want to purchase this as a gift but do not want to have it on my plan. Its ok for someone to pay monthly but i dont want to obligate them to a contract
