Can the tones/beeps/melody be turned off? null

On Nov 2020 LG microwave, melody turned off by pressing 'Timer + Clock' and while holding, also press and hold 'STOP'. Let go of both when the display reads 'OFF'. Press 'STOP' once to exit Timer mode. Voila! Silence.

This method worked for me on 0.9 LG NeoChef "Hold the Clear button and Auto Reheat button for 3 seconds and it will turn off all sounds".

To mute LG Microwave Oven LMC0975: Press and hold Clear + Auto Reheat together. Off will appear in window.

Too bad they can't be turned off. I work in an office and am close to the microwave. People put their food in and walk away for 10 minutes while the microwave beeps and beeps. It actually is a "melody", rather than a beep, and for a minute, I thought it would be LESS annoying. It is actually more annoying than just a regular beep. Microwave ovens turn OFF once the cycle is complete, so it's not like a beep is necessary. If it would continue to cook once the cycle is finished, I could understand the constant reminders. But 1) it stops cooking, so you could leave it in there until next Tuesday and no harm would be done except some old food and 2) most microwave foods instruct you to leave it in for a minute or two after it is done - so why have it beep so much if you might be intentionally leaving it there for a minute?

I just spent 38 minutes in the phone with LG to eventually be told there is no way to turn off the annoying beeps on my model LMV1760. Hard to believe.

No. But the instructions assure me that "audible signals are AVAILABLE to guide" me..... I believe that if something is AVAILABLE to me it means I have a choice. I love marketspeak.

LG Neochef 42L purchased Oct 2022. Wifey couldn’t handle the melody. Hold ‘Clear’ + ‘Keep Warm’ for a few seconds until it says OFF. No more sounds at all. Very peaceful around here now. Happy wife happy life.
