This method worked for me on 0.9 LG NeoChef "Hold the Clear button and Auto Reheat button for 3 seconds and it will turn off all sounds".

My husband even thinks it is annoying - and, he is completely deaf in one ear and is losing his hearing in the other. I kept thinking I'd get use to the irritating "song" but just couldn't tolerate it any longer. Although I love the exterior design of the microwave, I decided enough is enough and I'm giving it to my son and his wife. Why manufactures do not include a "no sound" option on all microwaves is beyond me, as I'm sure this would be very inexpensive upgrade especially with today's technology !!!!

My microwave was delivered yesterday and I've spent 4 hours today trying to figure out how to suppress the beeping. The more expensive models do have an easy suppression tool, but this model is horrifyingly LOUD, waking the baby upstairs. So far LG and BestBuy haven't responded to my calls for help.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Beeps are not loud but loud enough to notice. Not as annoying as other microwaves because of the melody sound. I wish I could adjust the sound level, however. I would give consumers the original level, 1/2 as loud and no sound. That would make this the best microwave around. I've had many in my life, this is the best.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The beeps are horrible and loud. The beeping wakes the baby upstairs. There's one tone that is TEN BEEPS, which LG calls a "melody". Ghastly. This machine was delivered just yesterday, and I spent 4 hours today trying to figure out how to suppress the beeping. One YouTube video walks the owner through disassembling the oven and snipping the wires connected to the little blue speaker. No! I'm not doing that. The more expensive LG models apparently allow the owner to turn off the beeping and "melody." But this unit, at $159, forces you to hear endless beeping. It's horrible and if LG can't tell me how to turn off the noise, I'm going to have to return the thing.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It doesn't beep like a lot of other microwaves. It has a dainty little melody or tune. For older people with hearing loss of higher sounds it may be difficult to hear. Really do wish they had offered an alternate sound.
