I saw on another site that someone added a quick connect onto the aupply hose which connects it to the sink, and drain hose in the bathtub.

Please try again later.In practice, this unit uses so little water (sparingly on the wash cycle, none whatsoever on the dry cycle versus the 30-50 gallons that a condenser washer-dryer would use) that it's certainly possible and it's not going to overload a 1.5 inch drain. However, US building codes generally make this difficult or impossible, primarily because the standard now in the US is to avoid a sealed connection between the wastewater pipe and the drain to avoid reverse suctioning. My installation which connects to the sink drain was possible because I already had the connection from a previous washer-dryer and I've had no problems with it.
