This dryer is shipped to vent to the rear. It can also be configured to vent to the bottom or side (right-side venting is not available on gas models). If you want to change it to vent to the side, you will need to purchase an adapter kit part # 383EEL9001B which contains the necessary duct components to change the dryer vent location. ^CP
