No, I leave the lid open after a wash to make sure the inside stays dry. Then I can close lid once it looks dry.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is normal for some residual water to remain in the dispenser tray after each wash in the LG - TurboWash 5.0 Cu. Ft. 12-Cycle Mega-Capacity High-Efficiency Top-Loading Washer, Model # WT5480CW but the dispenser should not be filled completely with water. This is where maintaining the washer helps in avoiding mold and mildew because detergent can gradually build up in the detergent tray and in the attachments over time and if there are not cleaned regularly, preferably after each wash, the water and additives will not dispense properly and water will remain in the compartments. You would also need to check that the attachments are inserted properly. Detergent use is also another factor and if you're using powdered detergent, you ould need to make sure to remove the liquid detergent insert and make sure that the powdered detergent is not spilled into the softener or bleach area. Be sure to follow the manufacturers recommended quantities and always use HE detergents. Keeping the lid open overnight also helps in allowing air circulation within the tub which helps to dry it out. Some environmental and usage conditions can cause residue to build up in the tub which can also lead to mold and mildew and the unit also has a TUB CLEAN cycle that is specially designed to remove this buildup using bleach or other cleaners specifically designed for cleaning washing machines...^IFV
