Yes, it works well as a single monitor. The ultrawide layout is excellent for side-by-side spreadsheets and emails. Text clarity is good, but OLED isn’t quite as razor-sharp as high-DPI IPS for heavy Excel work. You’ll still be comfortable all day. Excellent match. Your GPU can easily drive the resolution and refresh rate. Games are extremely immersive, with fast response times and perfect blacks. Low risk, not zero. LG’s OLED protections (pixel shift, logo dimming, refresh cycles) help a lot.

We understand your inquiry about using the 45GX950A-B UltraGear™ OLED Gaming Monitor for both professional work and high-end gaming, specifically addressing potential screen burn-in issues with static content. This model is truly versatile for both demanding uses. We recognize your concern about screen burn-in, which can be associated with OLED technology when displaying static images like spreadsheets, toolbars, or fixed window elements for extended periods. We want to assure you that LG has integrated several advanced features specifically to safeguard the OLED panel from this: Pixel Cleaning/Refresher: This is a key built-in maintenance feature that automatically runs when the monitor is turned off to manage and reduce the potential for image retention and burn-in. Screen Move: This feature slightly shifts the entire image at regular intervals, which helps prevent pixels from being constantly illuminated in the same location. Screen Saver/Logo Luminance Adjustment: These options help to minimize the brightness of static logos or screen elements, further reducing risk. When switching to gaming with your RTX 4080 Super, the monitor's features like the 5K2K resolution, 165Hz refresh rate (or 330Hz in WFHD Dual Mode), 0.03ms response time, and NVIDIA G-Sync™ compatibility will provide an exceptional, smooth, and vibrant experience. To best manage the risk of burn-in during your work hours with static content, we recommend: Using a dark theme for your applications (Excel, email). Hiding the taskbar and other static UI elements when possible. Enabling a screen saver or power-saving mode to turn off the display after a short period of inactivity. We are confident that by utilizing these built-in features and minor adjustments, you can enjoy the stunning picture quality of your OLED monitor for both your work and gaming needs. https://www.bestbuy.com/product/lg-ultragear-45-oled-dual-mode-5k2k-wuhd-165hz-wfhd-330hz-0-03ms-g-sync-freesync-premium-pro-gaming-monitor-black/JJ8VPZWPY9 If you have any further questions about the settings or require assistance, please contact us on [email protected], and our team will be more than happy to assist you. —Renzo
