This phone is new. Unlocked means that it is compatible with most service providers' signals (Verizon, AT&T, etc.), and, you don't get the bloatware they usually dump onto your phone. Once you get your unlocked phone, you merely take it to your chosen service provider to switch, or get a new SIM card installed. Mine also transferred all of my data (contacts, pictures, etc).

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's new. And it's a great phone! It's my 3rd LG over the years. Unlocked means you can use any SIM card from any of the major cell service providers. (As long as you have an account with them, it's just a matter of installing the SIM card.)
