• No. You cannot and it is awful. Get Apple's Smart Battery Case instead. Less protection than the Lifeproof, but better as a battery pack by miles and miles.

• No, the micro usb cable that comes with the case will charge and transfer data just like your regular apple charging cable. It works very well!

• You have to use a micro-USB charging cable. Honestly, the iphone cables have been horrible for years. We've gone through several each year. The MicroUSB charging cables last longer AND are way cheaper.
