Yes--it works directly with Alexa without recourse to either a software or hardware bridge. Name it whatever you like--but make it something Alexa can understand clearly. She's heard plenty of swear words because she can't seem to recognize the name of one light in particular!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You only need to say "Alexa, turn on light" or "Alexa, turn off light". Only those short phrases and Alexa does as she is asked. If you have more than one bulb, you need to name each one with a different name. When asking Alexa to turn on or turn off, you will need to let Alexa the name of the bulb you want to command. It's that simple.

You can name the light or group of lights such as Bedroom, Kitchen, or Living room and ask Siri (in my case) to turn them on/off, dim, change the color, etc.
