Yes. That is exactly what I use this unit for. My office is on the other end of the house and it Wi-Fi connects to my Linksys Router just fine. It will even map wired devices attached through the unit. It also extends your Wi-Fi signal at the same time so you can use both ways and not just one. There are four ports so you can attach a LAN printer that doesn't have Wi-Fi, like my older ones do, as well as any other LAN only devices such as NAS boxes or other office equipment. No real speed loss like I had before with Powerline LAN units that I was previously using. The only problem I have is my onboard LAN port is from Realtek and this unit does not seem to recognize when the PC turns on and the LAN port becomes active. I added a simple USB to LAN adapter and it works fine. Good Luck.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes at this point it can be configured as a wired AP extender. Lynksys has instructions that can help with that. https://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=187985
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, hardwiring to the RE6500 Range Extender's LAN port should be the same as hardwiring to the router.
