Based on your comments this router SHOULD meet your needs. When purchasing a router you will always want to take into consideration the overall coverage area. I am concerned about the location of the router in the basement but if you currently have a router placed there and it is providing the required coverage you should be fine. I always place my router in a centrally located area in my home to obtain coverage as far as I can.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have been very satisfied with the quality of the signal from my Linksys wifi router mounted in my basement. I have been able to get good signal strength throughout my home. Keep in mind that your results may vary based upon a number of factors including the density of the building materials in your home situated between your router and your other devices. You may also experience electronic interference from other wifi devices in neighbors homes close to you on common channels as your own. That later circumstance is more prevalent with Channels in the 2.4 GHz band (Channels 1-11) than in the 5GHz channels (channels 36-160). Distances are also shorter on 5 Ghz channels. You may wish to place a couple of range extenders in between your router and your other devices such as the doorbell.

Performance depends upon many factors, conditions and variables, including building materials and construction, volume of network traffic, mix of wireless products used, interference and other adverse conditions; the Linksys MR8300 Mesh WiFi Router has a built-in Mesh Wi-Fi and is designed to scale to your household’s Wi-Fi needs.
